The map on the left is centered on the failed bauxite tailing pond in Ajka, Hungary ( Oct. 4, 2010), showing the lower section of the watershed (green shading), which had itsĀ  streamwater channeled along the northern edge of the pond. Also shown in pink to red are the wet areas as they would exist as poorly drained and easily fllooded soils along the many flow channels across the landscape.
